NURSING IN GERMANY!!

Updated: Mar 15

Why prefer Germany?

Germany is the education hub, well-known for its academic excellence and various work opportunities in different sectors. Its multicultural society fosters a welcoming and inclusive environment, which makes it easier for international students to adapt and thrive in a new country. Germany offers a thriving and highly regarded nursing sector, providing excellent opportunities for those pursuing a career in healthcare. The German government has recently declared the creation of an additional 13,000 positions within hospitals and care facilities. However, there continues to be a shortage of trained medical personnel. Germany is coping with a significant deficiency in healthcare staff, resulting in numerous hospitals being affected. At present, the nursing industry in the country comprises approximately 1 million individuals.

  • It is estimated that by 2060 Germany requires approximately 3 million nurses due to its aging population. Towards the end of 2015, the number of individuals requiring care stood at 2.9 million, and it is expected to rise to 4.1 million by 2030. This indicates a considerable increase in the demand for healthcare services and further emphasizes the need for a larger nursing workforce in the country.

  • At present, nursing positions in Germany experience the longest average duration of being unfilled, standing at 171 days, which is the highest among all professions.

  • The number of individuals in need of old-age care is consistently increasing, and this upward trend is predicted to persist until 2060.

  • Over the years, the proportion of Geriatric Nurses from other countries has been steadily increasing and currently stands at 11 percent.

Benefits of working in Germany:

Nurses with a full license and B2 language proficiency can earn between €2900 and €3100, while those with a full license and B1 proficiency can expect up to €2200.

  • The opportunity for permanent settlement in Germany is possible within a few years for individuals who meet the necessary requirements and fulfill the necessary conditions.

  • Children of nurses in Germany can benefit entirely from free education, making quality schooling accessible without financial burden.

  • Nurses can invite their spouse (husband or wife) through the family reunion visa process, enabling them to join and stay together in Germany.

  • The spouse of a nurse holding a dependent visa can also pursue employment opportunities in Germany.

  • Germany is considered one of the safest countries to live and settle in, offering a secure environment for individuals and families.

Academic Recognition:

Generally, graduate students from various countries with diplomas in the medical field, such as nurses, do not have direct recognition of their qualifications in Germany.

  • Our services include providing assistance to graduated nurses in preparing and processing the application for equivalence in Germany.

  • Once the equivalence application is processed, it takes approximately 12 weeks to assess the possibility of equivalence. Following the evaluation, the candidate may receive full or partial equivalence, potentially with some theoretical and practical deficits that need to be addressed.
